Hedgehogs Visit Kindergarten!

Our school cook brought in two of her pet Hedgehogs.  The kids were very excited and very interested.  You know how young ones want to and need to touch things that they see.  Well...they were having a hard time with these guys.  One Hedgehog was an albino and he never did wake up, but stayed curled in a ball.  Hedgies are nocturnal animals, so he was sticking to that.  The other one was a little more active.  

"Hey!  Why are you kids waking me up from my nap?"

The kids listened intently to learn about this unusual 
animal - the African Pygmy Hedgehog.

This boy had to touch it and he was surprised at how it felt!

These guys can really protect themselves from predators!
